Earthquake, Weight Loss, and Halloween
When the 5.6 earthquake hit, I was in the middle of a very important business dinner at a local restaurant. Two of us had just had our coffee refilled, so the rockin' and rollin', caused the coffee to spill over the edge of the cups and all over the table. The restaurant wasn't busy, and some of the customers got up and went towards the front windows to look outside, as there had been sparks from one of the power lines on the street. But nobody over reacted in any way, even tho the waiter, who had never been in an earthquake, was a bit shaken. I stared at the walls the whole time, watching the walls roll. I never felt like I needed to find cover, but was ready to jump up if needed, or if the jolts got stronger. I was guessing it was a 6.0, but turned out to be strong enough and respectable 5.6, as the epicenter was only 9 miles away. Cell phone services were jammed and over loaded, so I drove by the bar, only a few blocks away, to make sure everything was alright.
I have Halloween off tomorrow, and have no plans to deal with any of it. Just want a quiet and productive day out of it. But i do have to drive to the Oakland area in the evening, so that will be scary enough ...LOL!!! Except of course for meeting up with
